Lauren Harries has shared a health update on social media, revealing that she saw a 'better world' and an 'angel' during her months-long hospitalisation last year. The 45-year-old reality TV star, known for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, underwent emergency brain surgery in April 2023 and spent several months in hospital due to seizures and other complications.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Harries wrote: 'I was left with a dent on my head as well but I did see. A new world a better world and a Angel I keep drawing him over and over... I remember the colours auras around him I wanted to stay there I really did.' She added that this would be her last message for a while, signing off with 'light and peace'.
Earlier posts saw Harries thanking her family for their support, noting that 'life will never be the same again but I'm working on it'. She also teased a potential return to television, writing: 'I can't wait to go back to work on TV again!' Harries has previously appeared on shows such as Loose Women and Naked Attraction.
Just days ago, on X (formerly Twitter), Harries said she was left with 'holes' in her head after surgery and had to learn to walk again. She described having an out-of-body experience, calling it 'such a beautiful place'. Her mother, Katy Harris, had previously stated that Harries 'would have died' without the emergency brain surgery.
Harries was discharged from hospital in December 2023 after what her family described as 'the most stressful seven months'. During her recovery, she experienced blackouts, a consistent headache, and was placed in an induced coma following a seizure. She also underwent spinal surgery for a split in her spine, which was initially unsuccessful, and later had emergency surgery for a life-threatening spinal tear.
