Doctor Struck Off for Encouraging 'Eunuch Maker' Amputations

NHS Doctor Removed from Register for Role in 'Eunuch Maker' Amputation Ring

An NHS doctor has been struck off the medical register after encouraging his roommate, Marius Gustavson, in carrying out illegal fetishistic amputations and other extreme body modifications. Dr Baraa Almasri, who came to the United Kingdom in 2019, failed to intervene or report Gustavson to the authorities, despite being aware of the criminal activities taking place in their London flat.

Doctor Viewed Illegal Procedures as 'Source of Humour'

Text messages revealed that Dr Almasri viewed Gustavson's behaviour as a source of humour and expressed interest in helping with the website and procedures. Gustavson, known as the 'eunuch maker', performed procedures including freezing and amputating limbs, illegal castrations, and even cooking human testicles. Dr Almasri was aware that the victims often had treatable problems, yet he did not take any action to stop the activities or alert the police.

Graphic Discussions and Failure to Report

The doctor exchanged graphic images with Gustavson and discussed the amputations in detail, despite his medical training and ethical obligations. The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service found that Dr Almasri's conduct was fundamentally incompatible with continued registration as a medical professional. His failure to report the illegal activities, which generated over £300,000, demonstrated a severe breach of trust and professional standards.

Background of the 'Eunuch Maker' Case

Marius Gustavson was jailed for life with a minimum of 22 years in 2024 for leading an extreme body modification ring. The case involved dismembering body parts in their basement, with victims suffering from serious and often permanent injuries. Dr Almasri's involvement, though not criminal, was deemed unacceptable by the tribunal, leading to his removal from the medical register to protect public safety and uphold the integrity of the NHS.
