Molly-Mae Hague has disclosed that she resorted to taking prescription beta blockers to manage severe anxiety triggered by difficulties in her relationship with Tommy Fury. The revelation comes in the second series of her Prime Video documentary, Behind It All, where she is seen struggling after a tense phone call with the boxer.
During the episode, Molly-Mae describes a panic attack that left her physically ill. 'I had this panic attack, and I was, like, being sick. I thought, Oh God, this is not good. This is really bad,' she says. 'Because my body is literally not coping with it, not coping at all with the anxiety. Yeah, it was so bad. Had to have beta blockers because I was so anxious.'
The couple, who met on Love Island in 2019 and became engaged, split briefly in August 2024 amid rumours of infidelity on Tommy's part, which he has consistently denied. They have since reconciled, though Molly-Mae admits the past still affects her. She notes that certain triggers, such as the mention of alcohol, cause her to feel tense, shaky, and anxious.
In the documentary, Molly-Mae reveals she is not yet wearing her engagement ring, feeling 'not quite ready.' She is spending time at Tommy's house with their daughter Bambi but has not fully committed to moving in, citing fear of the unknown. 'The thought of going over there and putting all my eggs into one basket again? It's just obviously it's scary, because with me and him, I never know what tomorrow's gonna bring,' she explains.
Tommy Fury previously admitted to having issues with alcohol, telling Men's Health in January that he would drink to the point of blackout when not in training camp. Despite this, Molly-Mae says they have been working on their relationship and are in a 'much better place,' though she acknowledges the journey is ongoing.
