Lucy Davis reveals incurable stage 4 breast cancer

The Office star Lucy Davis has revealed she has been diagnosed with incurable stage 4 breast cancer. In an Instagram post, the 53-year-old told followers she is 'trying to live out whatever might be left of my life'.

Diagnosis and Details

Davis shared that a year and a half ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, which has metastasized to her bones, specifically her spine, right hip, and ribs. She noted the cancer is incurable and too late for chemo.

She described the initial lump as a 'hard spot' that was 'really tiny', and she almost didn't get it checked. She urged others: 'don't ignore anything – get everything checked out'.

Living with Cancer

Davis said she is trying to live out her remaining life 'in as fun a way as I possibly can'. She emphasised the importance of humour, asking friends and family to make fun of her and not treat her like a sick person.

She acknowledged the pain can be severe, sometimes requiring a wheelchair. She is not scared of what comes next, saying she is 'at peace' and will see her dog Gracie sooner than expected.

Work and Support

Davis plans to continue her work for animal rights and acting, which she calls 'one of the biggest joys in my life'. She wished well to others on a similar journey, noting cancer 'asks a lot from us, physically and mentally'.
