Kate Middleton's Heartfelt Comment About William at Cancer Event
Kate's Sweet Remark About William at Charity Event

The Princess of Wales has delighted royal fans with a sweet comment about her husband, Prince William, during a cancer charity engagement in London. Kate joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at St James' Palace to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Cancer Research UK, an event hosted by the King as patron of the charity.

A Heartwarming Exchange with Ronan Keating

As she mingled with attendees, Kate spoke with Irish pop star Ronan Keating and his wife Storm about her own cancer journey. Ronan could be overheard saying to Kate: "Please say hi to William." His wife added: "He's such a gent," before Ronan said: "Yeah, we love him." The royal mother-of-three, wearing a red heart-print dress, made them both laugh when she replied: "So do I!"

Celebrating 15 Years of Marriage

In April, William and Kate celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, having married in a fairytale ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. They have three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Cancer Research UK Event Highlights

During the reception, Kate, Camilla, and Charles were shown immersive installations showcasing the charity's work. They were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Both Charles and Kate were diagnosed with undisclosed types of cancer in 2024. Kate underwent chemotherapy and announced in January last year that she was in remission.

Kate's Cancer Journey and Return to Duties

Kate previously spoke about her experience in a World Cancer Day message in February, describing the emotional impact of her illness. She noted that a cancer journey can involve "moments of fear and exhaustion" as well as periods of strength and recovery. Since announcing her remission, Kate has slowly eased back into royal duties, recently carrying out her first overseas solo working trip to Italy for her early years work.

The Impact of Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is credited with making major strides in survival rates over the decades, with the charity noting that survival has doubled in the country over the past 50 years, thanks to advances in research and clinical trials.
