Fallin Man Completes 75-Day Run for Mental Health

Kyle Paton, an apprentice roofer from Fallin, has successfully completed a grueling 75-day running challenge, raising more than £2,000 for the men's mental health charity Andy's Man Club. Paton ran 5 kilometers every day from April 14 to June 27, covering over 230 miles in total.

Challenge Details and Community Support

Paton's final run ended with a flourish as he was greeted by a crowd of well-wishers in the village. Reflecting on the experience, he told the Observer: "It went brilliantly in terms of the challenge; I thought it would be easier this time around after having done it last year, but that wasn't really the case."

He varied his routes, running through Stirling University, up to Bracklinn Falls, and around Fallin. Maintaining the routine was tough, especially after work. "The mental challenge was one of the real hurdles to get over for me," he added.

Fundraising Success and Awareness

Paton's online fundraiser raised £1,400, with additional contributions from the miners' club pushing the total past £2,000. He expressed pride in the Fallin community's support, both in person and financially. "It was a real proud moment to see everyone out for the last run," he said.

Beyond fundraising, Paton aimed to raise awareness about men's mental health and isolation. "People were always keen to come up to me and ask about what I was doing and about the charity, so that was always important to share," he noted.

About Andy's Man Club

Andy's Man Club runs weekly peer-to-peer support groups for men, aiming to reduce isolation and promote mental well-being. Paton's challenge highlights the charity's mission and the community's role in supporting mental health initiatives.
