Emmerdale's Laura Norton Shares Fitness Journey After Turning 40
Emmerdale's Laura Norton on Fitness After 40

Emmerdale actress Laura Norton, known for her role as Kerry Wyatt on the ITV soap, has received an outpouring of support after documenting her fitness transformation over the past year. The 40-year-old mother of two turned to social media to share her progress, revealing how she has navigated perimenopause and a slowing metabolism while striving to stay active.

Facing New Challenges After 40

Norton posted a video compilation of selfies taken after workouts, each accompanied by candid reflections on her efforts. In the caption, she wrote: "A year of showing up for myself. Perfect - no. Progress - yeah a bit. After birthing 2 nippers 2 consecutive years running, I turned 40 and got slapped with perimenopause. My body has completely changed along with my control over it." She added that her "metabolism slowed right down" and she is "fully ruled by my hormones," noting changes to her skin, hair, fitness, and body shape.

Turning Pain into Purpose

The actress explained her motivation: "We've had a few life curve balls to say the least and are facing challenges every single day but on the theme of turning pain into purpose I thought I'd use my 40s to find who I am again and become a fit, healthy, strong diva." She revealed she has been following a fitness program by @thebodycoach for the last year, aiming for at least three sessions per week, though she admitted she hasn't always hit that target.

Norton said she began posting stories for accountability, initially just for herself, but received encouragement and questions from followers, prompting her to continue. She declared her intention to "ramp it up a notch," adding: "I've spent a year showing up for myself and my fitness has definitely improved but with this pre menopause schizz treating me like some sort of science experiment I'm about to go very hard or go very home."

Support from Co-Stars and Fans

The post quickly garnered supportive messages. Emmerdale co-star Rosie Bentham commented: "Laura, smashing it," while Michelle Hardwick wrote: "Amazing. I'm going to do these." Former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan replied: "Well done. 'Proud of you Pete.'" Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox shared: "Incredible work!"

Fans also praised her dedication. @danellingham wrote: "You are a super woman aren't you just brilliant." @itsglittertime76 posted: "Takes real dedication to stick to those workouts, you are doing incredible Laura." @mrs.chappers added: "Well done, Laura! That really is impressive, and you should be proud! I have enjoyed watching the progress and the fringe jokes (perhaps it needs its own grid?) Keep it up, don't let the c*ap pull you down."
