Charlotte Crosby suffers silent miscarriage five months after loss

Charlotte Crosby has revealed she suffered a silent miscarriage just five months after another pregnancy loss, saying it felt like her heart had been "ripped" out.

The former Geordie Shore star, 36, who shares daughters Alba and Pixi with her fiancé Jake Ankers, shared the news with her followers on Instagram.

Pregnancy announcement and scan

Crosby wrote that the couple had received the news they had been hoping for last month when they found out they were pregnant. She said the positive test brought overwhelming happiness, especially after experiencing a silent miscarriage earlier this year.

She posted an ultrasound photograph and wrote: "This was our six weeks five days! The moment we had been waiting for... that little heart beat."

The influencer said her most recent pregnancy did not reach that far, so both she and Ankers "relaxed a little". She added that they started envisioning life as a family of five and planned how they would tell the girls, even starting to think about names.

Devastating news at eight-week scan

However, at her eight-week scan, Crosby received the devastating news that her baby's heart had stopped beating. She wrote: "Unfortunately on our eight week scan our world came crashing down, as we got the news we'd been petrified of all along.... 'I'm so sorry, the baby's heart has stopped beating.'"

She added: "It felt like someone had ripped our hearts out of our chests. We lost another baby, another silent miscarriage."

Crosby then shared a photograph of her two daughters, writing: "We are incredibly lucky, and I can't even explain how tight I've held these girls this last week!" She added that having them both will always be the greatest blessing they have ever received.

Processing the loss

She said last night was The Wave of Light, a global event held to mark the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week, and that everything felt heavy. She realised she may not have allowed herself to process everything that has happened, having kept busy and stayed strong for the girls, including for Alba's birthday.

Crosby said she has shared her whole life with her followers for the last 16 years and that putting her feelings into words helps her make sense of it all. She said she is not sure where they go from here and that the fear of feeling the heartbreak again is terrifying.

In May, Crosby disclosed she had suffered another silent miscarriage, describing it as "a pain and devastation that hurt so much".

A silent miscarriage, also known as a missed miscarriage, is one that presents no symptoms and is only identified during a pregnancy scan, according to the NHS.

Crosby and Ankers, who featured together in the BBC Three reality programme Charlotte In Sunderland, became engaged in October 2023 following the birth of their first child, Alba. She welcomed Pixi in February 2025.
