Brit woman who needed 'extendable seatbelt' on planes loses 6 stone with app
Brit woman loses 6 stone with Simple app after seatbelt struggle

Tracey Mcavoy, a British woman who lived on the edge of the Peak District, has lost six stone using the Simple app after previously needing an "extendable seatbelt" on planes. She weighed 22.5 stone and said overeating and a lack of movement led to her weight gain, but the app has "changed (her) life completely".

Weight loss journey with Simple

Mcavoy started her weight loss journey on January 4 and, although she thought she was "ready for giving up", she has since lost six stone. While she says she still has a "long way to go", she is enjoying a "new way of eating (and) a new way of living".

She said: "So, what got me to 22.5 stone? Overeating (and) no movement. I was a pig, I was lazy, I was addicted to food. I'd go to bed and then get up at 11 o'clock at night and have four bags of crisps, or make myself some cheese on toast."

"Enjoyed that, and then I'd make myself some more. I loved food, loved it, it was everything to me. (But with) Simple, it has just changed my life completely and retrained my brain. (I have) lost loads of weight and stopped taking half the medication I was on."

Health improvements and app features

Mcavoy explained that last year she went to Turkey and "always hated flying" and had to ask for an extendable seatbelt. She said: "I couldn't walk, I had a chronically bad back, and I was taking about 10 tablets a day for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol."

She added: "(Now), I feel like I've had a brain transplant. My whole life is different. I'm healthier, I'm happier, I look better, I feel better. Everyone says I look younger, my skin's better, my hair's more healthy. It's just been a total eye-opener - and this is from someone that has tried every single diet under the sun."

The Simple app is a clinically proven weight loss tool that has helped users lose over 18 million pounds. To use it, people take a quiz and Simple builds a personalised plan, with features including food logging through typing, voice or photo; an intermittent fasting tracker; a NutriScanner; and daily workout plans, including yoga, pilates, HIIT, walking, and Tai Chi.

AI coach and user feedback

One standout feature is the in-app coach, Avo, powered by AI, which answers questions straightaway, giving users 24/7 access to wellbeing and fitness advice. There's also an emotional support feature called Blinky, described as a furry friend who cheers when users log meals, sulks when they don't, and spirals when ignored.

Mcavoy said she "kept asking Avo for different recipes" and healthier substitutes for different foods. She is no longer "addicted to food anymore" and would advise anyone to try Simple. The brand notes that real Simple users are featured and compensated for their honest testimonials, and results may vary.

Users can currently get 80% off Simple's weight loss plans using the code REACH. Once subscribed, there's a two-for-one deal where users can share Simple premium with someone of their choice at no added cost. On Trustpilot, the app has an overall 4.3 out of five star rating, making it 'Excellent'. One user said: "Simple has made it easy to stay on track for losing weight, slimming down my shape, and becoming healthier. The plan is created upon individual lifestyles, is easy to follow, and promotes healthy eating." Another wrote: "This has been so helpful with my fasting and I love my AI coach. Definitely worth the money."
