Ariana Grande's 'Loving Reminder' Against Body-Shaming Goes Viral
Ariana Grande issues powerful anti body-shaming message

Global pop sensation Ariana Grande has issued a powerful and emotional plea to her fans and the public, urging them to reconsider their habit of commenting on people's physical appearance. The message comes as the star reshared a poignant clip from a 2024 interview on her Instagram Story, describing it as a 'loving reminder to all'.

An Emotional Plea from the Public Eye

The resurfaced video features a tearful Grande responding to a question from French reporter Sally about the negative commentary surrounding her body. Having been in the public eye since her teenage years, the singer revealed she has 'heard it all' – from criticism about her appearance to unsolicited advice on how to 'fix' it.

'It's hard to protect yourself from that noise,' Grande confessed in the emotional interview. She went on to challenge the modern societal norm of freely commenting on others' looks, health, or perceived private struggles. 'I think in today's society there's a comfortability that we shouldn't have, at all,' she stated, emphasising that such behaviour is 'dangerous, for both parties involved.'

Drawing a Firm Boundary

Grande made her current position on the matter unequivocally clear. She firmly stated that such commentary is 'not welcome' in her life anymore. 'I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on,' she declared, explaining that she no longer leaves any space for unsolicited opinions about her body.

This public reminder arrives just after the conclusion of the 'Wicked: For Good' press tour. Grande stars as Glinda in the film, the follow-up to last year's 'Wicked: Part I', alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. The physical appearances of both actresses in the movie have, unfortunately, attracted fresh criticism, seemingly prompting Grande to re-share her powerful message.

A Consistent Stance Against Body-Shaming

This is not the first time the 'Side to Side' hitmaker has felt compelled to address public scrutiny of her physique. Back in April 2023, she posted a candid three-minute video on TikTok to speak directly to her fans' concerns.

In that intimate address, she highlighted a painful irony, revealing that the body people often compared her to and deemed 'healthy' was, in fact, her 'unhealthiest version'. She shared that during that period, she was 'on a lot of anti-depressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life.'

Grande's advocacy against toxic comparison culture dates back even further. In 2015, she responded to a comment comparing her to another actress by writing: 'We live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, and anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are.' Her consistent message remains one of self-love and a firm rejection of unwarranted public judgement.
