Vanessa Hudgens Welcomes Second Child After 'Wild' Labour Leaves Her Injured
Vanessa Hudgens has second baby after 'wild' labour

Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens has announced the arrival of her second child, sharing details of a dramatic labour she described as a 'wild ride' that left her with visible injuries.

A New Arrival and a Challenging Birth

The High School Musical star, 36, and her husband, Major League Baseball shortstop Cole Tucker, 29, welcomed their new baby on Saturday. The couple, who married in December 2023, are already parents to a son born in July 2024.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Hudgens posted a photograph from her hospital bed, smiling as she held her husband's hand. While she celebrated the new addition, she did not reveal the baby's gender or name.

The Physical Toll of a 'Wild Ride'

In a candid revelation on her Instagram Stories, Hudgens gave her followers a glimpse into the physical intensity of the birth process. She posted a selfie showing a severely bloodshot eye, which she attributed to the strain of labour.

'Labor. Popping out babies and blood vessels loooool,' she wrote alongside the image, demonstrating her characteristically light-hearted approach to the challenging experience.

In her main post, she paid tribute to mothers everywhere, writing: 'Well…. I did it. Had another baby!!! What a wild ride labor is. Big shout out to all the moms. It’s truly incredible what our bodies can do.'

From Pregnancy Announcement to Parenthood

The birth comes just four months after the couple announced they were expecting their second child. In mid-July, they shared sunny photos showcasing Hudgens' baby bump with the simple caption: 'Round two!!!!'

Earlier this year, Hudgens opened up about the realities of motherhood, admitting to E! News that she doesn't know the meaning of 'balance'. 'Life is crazy and time is a really precious thing,' she said. 'I am a person of extremes - I'm all in doing one thing or another.'

She explained that becoming a parent had taught her to 'slow down and enjoy the moment', focusing on the present rather than future plans. In a practical tip for new parents, she even credited a robotic vacuum cleaner for giving her back some precious time to relax and watch television in the evenings.

Reflecting on her life in Hollywood, she concluded last November: 'The older that I get, the more practical I get. Life is chaotic and hectic. I don't need to make it any more stressful than it needs to be.'
