Sunrise presenter Teegan Dolling has delighted viewers by announcing she is expecting her first child. The 28-year-old entertainment reporter shared her personal news live on air during Saturday's broadcast, revealing her baby is due in April.
A Joyful On-Air Announcement
After delivering her regular entertainment segment, Teegan had her own headline to share with the Sunrise family. 'And some very personal "pop" news this morning. The Sunrise family is growing,' she began, before confirming: 'My fiancé Jamie and I are expecting our first baby in April.'
Co-hosts Natarsha Belling and Hugh Whitfeld reacted with visible excitement to the announcement. Teegan explained that while still early in her pregnancy, she is already experiencing changes, citing cravings for mandarins and having to give up coffee.
Keeping the Gender a Surprise
The couple have decided not to find out their baby's gender before the birth, wanting it to be a surprise when the child arrives around ANZAC Day. 'What I've found is this whole new level of self-control because we're actually not finding out the baby's gender,' Teegan remarked.
She enthusiastically invited the Sunrise audience to join them on their journey, asking for parenting advice, brand recommendations for prams and nursery items, and even suggestions for baby names.
Sharing the News on Social Media
Teegan also took to Instagram on Saturday to break the news to her followers. She posted a series of images, including one showing her baby bump in a Calvin Klein sports bra under a denim jacket while holding a sonogram photo.
Another heartfelt image captured her hand clutching her fiancé Jamie's as they both held a pair of white knitted baby booties, captioned: 'Wondering who you will be.' A black and white photo from the Sunrise announcement package showed Teegan posing happily with the tiny booties.
The couple, who have been together for seven years, got engaged in April 2024. Jamie proposed during a hike with a stunning mountain backdrop, a moment they later shared with followers after announcing their engagement on air.
