Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo Face Backlash Over Car Seat Safety Video

Jamie Laing has faced criticism after sharing a video of his wife Sophie Habboo holding their son Ziggy in a car without a seatbelt. The Made In Chelsea star, 37, posted a montage to mark six months since the birth of their child, but quickly removed the footage after fans expressed concerns about safety.

In the UK, children under 12 or under 135cm must be secured in an approved car seat, though taxis are exempt if no seat is provided. The couple, who are known for their reality TV fame, have been determined to shield their baby from the public eye, with Sophie admitting they are "still working out" how much to share online.

Fans were quick to criticise the clip, with one writing: "Nice to see you have removed the irresponsible clip... It would be wise to address the elephant in the room and maybe admit you have been irresponsible." Another commented: "Your baby has no voice to question you when you travel without a baby seat OR a seatbelt."

The couple, who met on E4's Made In Chelsea, are now filming a new Disney reality show, Raising Chelsea, which promises a "no-holds-barred" look at their lives. However, sources claim the pressure of filming has "taken a toll" on the pair, particularly Sophie, who has been forced to be "camera-ready so soon" after giving birth.

An insider told The Sun: "Sophie and Jamie actually had a really difficult time filming. They didn’t really expect it to be as much pressure as it was, and part of them wishes they had never agreed to do it." Despite the challenges, the couple are said to be pleased with the final outcome of the show.
