Oti Mabuse Opens Up About 'Toughest' Postpartum Weight Loss Journey

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has shared a candid update on her postpartum weight loss transformation, describing it as "one of the toughest but most beautiful experiences of my life". The 35-year-old professional dancer, who gave birth last year, revealed she dropped from a size 18 to a size 10 after making significant lifestyle changes.

In a TikTok video posted last year, Mabuse explained that her journey was prompted by a diagnosis of gestational diabetes, which left her pre-diabetic. She said: "After my pregnancy, dealing with gestational diabetes meant I had to be even more mindful of my health. So I started to change how I approached food, movement, and how I looked at my own body."

The dancer emphasised that her goal was not about "getting skinny" but about "gaining strength, confidence, and discipline in a way that feels sustainable and true to me". She admitted the process was challenging, saying: "Changing lifelong habits, trying new foods, pushing my body in ways I never have before— it's been hard work."

Mabuse, who is set to appear on The Wheel this weekend, also shared that she set herself goals rather than focusing on the scales. She expressed pride in her progress, stating: "To see my body transform, not just in shape, but in how it feels... that's a win every day. I'm proud of where I am, at whatever size, and I want every woman to feel that sense of pride too."

The transformation comes ahead of her latest tour and follows her appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! last year, where she lasted 22 days. Mabuse won Strictly twice, with Kelvin Fletcher in 2019 and Bill Bailey in 2020, before leaving the show in 2021 and joining Dancing on Ice as a judge in 2022.
