Former star of The Bachelorette, JoJo Fletcher, has shared an emotional and reassuring update with her followers after welcoming her first child under unexpected medical circumstances.
A Whirlwind Arrival
The 35-year-old television personality took to Instagram over the weekend to confirm that she, her husband Jordan Rodgers, and their newborn daughter are all in good health. This follows an emergency C-section procedure earlier in the week.
The couple had originally announced their daughter's arrival in a joyous Christmas Day post. They revealed that a routine prenatal appointment on Tuesday, December 23, swiftly transformed into an urgent delivery. At 5:37pm on December 23, they welcomed their baby girl, Romy Blair Rodgers.
"Merry Christmas to us," they captioned a series of hospital photos. "Romy Blair Rodgers, you are our whole world. Can't wait to share more but in the meantime soaking up these moments as a new family of three."
Recovery and Newborn Joy
In a subsequent update shared to her Instagram Story, Fletcher posted a mirror selfie cradling her daughter, expressing her overwhelming love. "She's delicious. I'm so obsessed with her, I can't handle it," she wrote.
Despite admitting she was still navigating the challenging early days of parenthood, or the "newborn trenches," Fletcher wanted to thank fans for their support. She confirmed that mom, dad, and baby girl are all doing good, noting her own recovery is going well and praising Rodgers as already being "dad goals."
Reflecting on the intense experience of new parenthood in a longer message, Fletcher wrote, "It's crazy what they say - that you can literally be in full sleep deprivation mode but the second you look at her you forget it all because the only thing you can think about is just how much you love this little angel."
A Journey to Parenthood
The arrival of baby Romy holds special significance for the couple, who met on season 12 of The Bachelorette in 2016 and married in 2022. Fletcher had previously opened up about their fertility struggles earlier this year.
In an interview with Us Weekly in August, she described their path to conception as a "long and emotional journey." The couple referred to Romy as their "rainbow baby"—a term for a child born after a pregnancy loss—in their pregnancy announcement, which was met with widespread support from Bachelor Nation fans and alumni.
Among those offering congratulations were former Bachelor Ben Higgins and Jordan Rodgers' brother, Luke, who enthusiastically declared himself ready for uncle duties.
