New mother and model Elsie Hewitt has candidly revealed the overwhelming emotions she has experienced since welcoming her first child with comedian Pete Davidson. In a series of heartfelt social media posts, the 29-year-old admitted she has spent time 'crying' over the profound love she feels for their newborn daughter, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, who was born on December 12.
An Overflow of Maternal Emotion
Just over a week after giving birth, Hewitt took to her Instagram Story to connect with other mothers. She asked her 1.1 million followers if they, too, find themselves "stare[ing] at your baby and cry at how much you love them and can't believe it's yours and that your body made this perfect thing." The raw post highlights the intense and often surprising feelings that accompany new parenthood.
Further sharing her sentimental frame of mind, Hewitt posted a screenshot from the children's show Blue's Clues, featuring characters Salt and Pepper welcoming their baby, Paprika. She likened the animated family to her own, writing "me pete and scottie" over an image of the parent characters holding hands beside their child.
First Glimpses of Family Life
The couple, who confirmed they were dating in March of this year and announced the pregnancy in July, are basking in their new roles. On Sunday evening, Hewitt shared a carousel post on Instagram featuring two intimate photos of the pair cradling baby Scottie. She captioned the images 'MY BEST FRIENDS' alongside three pink heart emojis.
One of the photos offered a clear look at Davidson's physical transformation, showing the 32-year-old former Saturday Night Live star shirtless. His once heavily tattooed arms and torso appeared significantly clearer, providing a visual update on his years-long laser tattoo removal journey.
Pete Davidson's 'Clean Slate' Mission
Davidson, who was previously engaged to Ariana Grande and later dated Kim Kardashian, has been open about his decision to remove his extensive body art. He once had approximately 200 tattoos but began the removal process in 2021. In an October interview with Us Weekly, he stated the painful and expensive procedure was "super worth it" as he is "a different person" now.
"When I see myself in the mirror, I just see, like, you know, poor decision-making and I wasn't there yet as an adult," he explained. The process involves burning off layers of skin with a laser, followed by lengthy healing periods. Davidson estimated he was only 30 percent done as of October but noted his arms are almost fully clear, allowing him to "wear a T-shirt. It's nice."
The couple's journey into parenthood has not been without its minor hurdles. Shortly after Scottie's birth, Hewitt also had to undergo surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed. Despite the whirlwind of events, a source told Us Weekly that the pair, though not originally planning a family, are "over the moon" and the pregnancy has brought them "even closer."
