The couple, who are expecting their first child together, a baby boy, have kept their followers updated on their journey, with this latest antics proving a particular hit.
The Milk-Spitting Prank That Had Fans Howling
Taking to Instagram, Dianne posted a playful reel that showed her cuddling up to Joe before suddenly spitting milk onto his jumper. The stunt was a deliberate test of his paternal instincts, mimicking the messy 'milk burps' he can expect from their newborn.
Captioning the video, the Australian dancer wrote: “Some will say it’s mean others will say it’s character building ….. just prepping him for all those little milk burps Do we think he passed the test? @Joe_sugg”.
Joe took the surprise in good humour, laughing it off, but it was the online reaction that truly exploded. Dianne confessed that telling her parents was the “most nervous I'd ever been”, almost putting it off. Joe agreed, saying telling family and friends was more nerve-wracking than sharing it with their millions of followers online.
They also revealed a significant detail: they have already chosen a name for their son. While keeping it firmly under wraps, Joe described it as “quite a unique name” that can be shortened, similar to 'Joe' becoming 'Joseph'. Dianne added it was a name that works for both a child and an adult, even joking it could be a “good sportsperson name”. To avoid accidental slips, Joe has taken to jokingly calling the baby 'Derek'.
From Strictly Partners to Parents-to-Be
Dianne and Joe's love story began when they were paired on the 2018 series of the BBC One dance competition. Their romance has blossomed ever since, and they now regularly share their lives on social media and YouTube.
Despite her pregnancy, Dianne continued as a pro on the current series of Strictly, partnered with fellow Australian Stefan Dennis.
