Alice Liveing Hospitalised with Post-Birth Bleeding Weeks After Daughter's Arrival
Alice Liveing Rushed to Hospital After Giving Birth

Fitness influencer and new mother Alice Liveing has publicly revealed a frightening health scare, detailing her emergency hospital admission for unusual bleeding just weeks after welcoming her first child.

A Sudden Health Scare

The 32-year-old, who gave birth to her daughter Jeannie last month, took to Instagram on Friday to share a picture from a hospital bed. She explained that she had undergone an urgent scan after experiencing concerning postpartum symptoms. Alice disclosed that over the previous week, she had noticed abnormal bleeding and wisely decided to consult her GP.

Her doctor promptly referred her for a scan, which revealed the cause of the problem: 'retained products,' a medical term for remaining placental or fetal tissue left in the uterus after childbirth. This condition can lead to complications like infection and heavy bleeding if not treated.

An Important Warning for New Mothers

In a heartfelt message to her followers, Alice wrote about her diagnosis. 'Not the news I wanted today, but want to share in case it's helpful or makes anyone else get their's checked,' she stated. She emphasised how easy it is to dismiss such symptoms as a normal part of postpartum recovery, encouraging others to seek medical opinion if in doubt.

She further detailed that her specific symptoms included bright red bleeding with large clots around 25 days after giving birth. Alice also highlighted a potential hurdle for new mothers, noting she was 'sadly outside of the 28-day window to receive triage care from the hospital,' which necessitated the initial visit to her GP.

Navigating New Motherhood

This health scare comes amidst Alice's candid accounts of the challenges of new motherhood. Earlier this month, she admitted she was struggling to leave the house and find time for basic self-care while caring for her newborn. She confessed that exercise had not even crossed her mind as she navigated the relentless demands of feeding and caring for baby Jeannie, especially while solo parenting after her husband Patrick's paternity leave ended.

Despite the recent ordeal, the fitness star expressed a desire to return to creating content. 'I really want to start making content again,' she shared, asking her fans for input on what they would like to see from her as she takes 'baby steps' back towards her work.
