Bonnie Tyler, the 74-year-old singer best known for her hit 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery in Portugal. The Welsh-born star, who has a home near Faro in the Algarve, was admitted to hospital for an urgent intestinal procedure.
Surgery Successfully Completed
A statement on Tyler's official website confirmed the news, saying: 'We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery. The surgery went well and she is now recuperating.'
Well-Wishes Pour In
The statement added: 'We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.' Tyler, who was presented with an MBE by Prince William at Windsor Castle in 2023, is expected to make a full recovery.
