Katie Price Shares Heartfelt Update on Mum Amy's Terminal Lung Condition
Katie Price's emotional health update on mum Amy

In a raw and emotional new YouTube video, Katie Price has offered fans a candid glimpse into her mother Amy's ongoing health battle, sharing both her hopes and fears for the future.

A Bittersweet Start to 2026

Celebrating the arrival of the new year, the former glamour model and reality TV star delivered a heartfelt message focused on her beloved mum. "Mum has made it 2026. So happy another year, so let’s hope we’ve got another year with my mum," Katie said, her voice tinged with a mix of relief and palpable gratitude. The intimate update prompted an immediate wave of support from her devoted followers.

The Reality of a Progressive Illness

Amy Price has been living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a progressive and terminal lung disease that causes scarring of the lungs, for several years. The condition makes breathing and mobility increasingly difficult. Katie did not shy away from describing the physical toll it has taken. "As you can all see, she is a lot more frail than she used to be," she admitted in the video.

However, she was quick to highlight that her mother's sharp wit and determination remain undimmed. "But don’t let that fool you because her head is still screwed on," Katie emphasised, painting a picture of a woman whose spirit outmatches her physical limitations.

Creating Joy Amidst Challenges

Determined to make precious memories, Katie revealed plans to enhance her mum's quality of life. She has bought Amy a scooter to provide a "new lease of life" and hopes to organise trips, including one to the Isle of Wight. This focus on family and shared experiences is a recurring theme for Katie, who often prioritises creating moments with her children and her mother.

The struggle with mobility is not new. In a podcast update back in March last year, Katie explained that Amy had been finding it hard to walk following a lung transplant. "I do feel for you mum, because people have to understand what my mum’s gone through," she said at the time, noting the frustration her mum feels at not being able to do things she once could.

Amy herself contributed to that conversation, stating, "It’s not doing me any good because I’m meant to walk to help myself," expressing a hopeful goal to be walking again by the summer.

Katie Price's latest update serves as a poignant reminder of the realities faced by families dealing with long-term illness, balancing moments of joy with the heartache of witnessing a loved one's decline.
