An NHS staff member is under investigation after allegations that the medical records of a schoolgirl who was allegedly murdered were accessed "without permission or clinical need."
Incident Details
Minnie Merriman, nine, died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after being seriously injured at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath. The incident occurred on Monday while Minnie and her family, from West Yorkshire, were camping in the area.
Three other family members were taken to hospital. A 35-year-old man, known to the girl, has been charged with her murder and appeared in court.
Investigation
Christopher Rice, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, made no plea during a private hearing at Forfar Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.
NHS Tayside has confirmed an ongoing investigation after the girl's health records were allegedly accessed without permission or clinical need.
