The RSPCA has launched its 'Adoptober' campaign to connect animals in Greater Manchester with forever homes, urging people to 'adopt and not shop' as rescue teams face rising numbers of animals needing new homes. Among the loveable cats highlighted are sisters Antonia and Ava, who have been in RSPCA care since birth and are now five months old.
Sisters seek a home together
RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch CIO Branch Manager Susie Hughes described the pair as "a uniquely fabulous pair of sisters who would love a forever home together." She noted they are extremely close but have different needs, adding: "We are hoping, against all odds, that there is a home for them together out there somewhere."
Ava is a tabby who "has the power to melt the hearts of anyone who meets her," according to Hughes, and unusually for a kitten, she enjoys being on a lap. Antonia has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition causing mobility and stability issues that will not worsen but will be present all her life. Despite this, she "can get herself around, get onto the bed and sofa and generally lets nothing stop her in her pursuit of joy."

The campaign also features Cindy, Wayne, Annika, Eggy Bread, Margaret, Giselle, Donna, and Wendell. People interested in adopting any of the animals can fill out an online application form on the RSPCA's website.
