Lilika, a one-year-old dog, was found running down the middle of a road in Arkalochori, Crete, with a heavy chain hanging from her neck. The discovery suggested she had endured a difficult start to life, without the care, safety and freedom every dog should have. A rescue volunteer spotted her and intervened before she could come to further harm.
Gentle temperament despite ordeal
Despite the harrowing conditions, rescuers report that Lilika has shown herself to be affectionate and trusting. Now safe in kennels in Crete, the 13kg dog has unveiled a personality that volunteers say is impossible to resist. She has a fluffy coat and a full, bushy tail, but it is her gentle temperament that sets her apart. She is described as warm, devoted and loving, welcoming people with open paws.
Ready for adoption in the UK
