Two defenceless puppies are urgently seeking loving homes after being cruelly abandoned beneath a bridge in Greece and left to survive on their own. The tiny dogs were found alone on a dirt track under a concrete bridge on a remote side road near Katerini, Greece, with no trace of their mother or the person responsible for leaving them there. Animal rescue workers have warned the puppies face "imminent danger", expressing fears they could die if they remain in the isolated location much longer.
Urgent Appeal for Foster or Adoptive Families
In an urgent appeal posted on social media, the rescue organisation Greek Stray ResQ is seeking people across the UK willing to foster or adopt the pups and provide them with the caring home they so desperately require. They said: "Two helpless puppies dumped under a bridge - immediate rescue needed! Left in the absolute middle of nowhere on a side road outside Katerini, these two tiny puppies are currently fighting for their lives. In the images you can see the heartbreaking reality of where they were left - alone on the dirt under a concrete bridge."
The organisation added: "They are incredibly small right now, but they are expected to grow into perfect medium-sized companions, weighing around 10 to 12kg when fully grown. They are in imminent danger every single second they remain out there on the road. We are desperately searching for a kind-hearted foster or an adoptive family who can step forward, open their arms and shelter them from this nightmare. Let's get these sweet babies into a safe, warm bed where they belong."
Public Response and How to Help
The poignant plea has generated a wave of compassion online, with numerous people expressing hope the duo will quickly discover the caring homes they merit. Responding to the post, one person remarked: "Oufff... short hair long ears again! My weakness. So cute. They need getting out of there ASAP." Another user commented: "Hope someone will offer a safe place."
Greek Stray ResQ states volunteers form the foundation of all their work and they depend substantially on assistance from animal enthusiasts throughout Greece, especially in northern areas where the requirement is most acute. The organisation is urging more people to become involved, whether through volunteering, donations or adoption, noting even modest gestures of compassion can entirely transform the lives of stray animals.
