Caerphilly council has closed Trehir Recycling Centre on Pandy Lane, Llanbradach, until further notice after structural damage was found at the site. The facility was first shut on Friday, October 23, and a further update on October 27 confirmed it will not reopen for now.
Structural damage behind closure
The closure follows a review of structural damage caused to a wall at the site. The council said it is unable to confirm when the recycling centre will reopen.
A council statement said: "Following a review of the structural damage at Trehir Household Recycling Centre, the site will remain closed until further notice. To support residents during this time, alternative Household Recycling Centres will be open on their usual closure days."
Alternative sites for residents
Residents are being advised to use other recycling centres while Trehir is closed. The council has set out which sites will be available on each day of the week.
