A huge fire has engulfed an industrial estate in West Lothian, prompting an emergency response from fire crews. The alarm was raised around 3:20 PM on Sunday, June 14, when reports of a blaze at Deans Industrial Estate on Caputhall Road in Livingston came in.
Emergency Response
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews rushed to the scene, deploying four appliances and one height appliance to tackle the raging inferno. Firefighters remain on site as efforts to bring the fire under control continue. It is not yet known whether anyone has been injured, or if Police Scotland or the Scottish Ambulance Service are in attendance.
Witness Accounts
Photos and videos captured at the scene show bright orange flames bursting through the roof of a building, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Locals have expressed concern on social media, with some reporting seeing the blaze from as far away as Culross and the road to Burntisland. The area has been cordoned off to the public, and one fire engine remains parked nearby.
