The Met Office has released weather maps for Wales indicating where temperatures will be highest over the coming week. A rare extreme heat warning has been issued for parts of the country, with temperatures expected to reach 31°C in south-east Wales.

Tuesday
The hottest day: 31°C in Monmouth.
Wednesday
Temperatures remain high at 26-27°C. Swansea will see 27°C, warmer than Tuesday.
Thursday
Warmer again: Cardiff 29°C, Swansea 28°C.
Friday
Monmouth will be warmest at 29°C.
