Trafford Council has set out ambitious plans for the regeneration of the Wharfside area, with a public consultation now open for residents and businesses to share their views. The plans, unveiled this month, aim to transform what has been described as a 'forgotten' part of Trafford into a thriving new community.

The masterplan includes the construction of 15,000 new homes over the coming decades, alongside the creation of up to 48,000 new jobs. Commercial spaces, eateries, hotels, and offices are also part of the proposal. At the heart of the development is the proposed new stadium for Manchester United football club, which would have 100,000 seats, making it the largest in the UK.

The consultation runs from Tuesday, July 28, to Tuesday, September 22. Information sessions will be held at Trafford Town Hall on July 29, Gorse Hill Studios on September 9, and Stretford Metros Sports and Social Club on September 15. Feedback will shape the final version of the Wharfside regeneration masterplan.
