Former Emmerdale and Strictly Come Dancing star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz, have announced a significant new venture for their sprawling family farm in the Peak District. The 120-acre property, which is the star of the popular ITV documentary series Fletchers' Family Farm, is now officially open for wedding bookings.
A Picturesque Setting for Your Special Day
The couple is offering two distinct ways for couples to tie the knot amidst the stunning countryside. The first option is a barn wedding held in a rustic function barn located beneath the farm's coffee shop. Described as a flexible space with ample character, it promises a magical celebration without imposing a hefty financial burden on the happy couple.
The second, more whimsical choice is a woodland blessing ceremony. This service is set in the countryside fields, offering a breathtaking backdrop of Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook's Monument. Situated near the fishing lake and enveloped by what the farm's website calls a "magical woodland," the location is promoted as an unbeatable, picturesque spot for an enchanted ceremony.
Farm Life Continues Amid Personal Challenges
This exciting business expansion comes at a time of personal difficulty for Kelvin. The latest episodes of Fletchers' Family Farm, which returned for its third series last month, have revealed the extent of an injury he sustained during a charity rugby match.
The match, which took place on Sunday, November 23, was in aid of the David Lewis Centre, a charity supporting individuals with complex needs. Kelvin was playing alongside professional athletes Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan, and Danny McGuire. Initially benched, he later entered the game and was tackled, immediately fearing he had torn his bicep.
A subsequent scan confirmed the bad news: a torn bicep that has left him unable to fulfil many of his physical commitments on the farm. In a recent episode, he was seen discussing with his wife Liz whether she would need to step in and show their Lincoln Red cows at the upcoming Royal Cheshire Show in his place.
Liz Steps Up as Kelvin Recovers
"I need to find a potential understudy," Kelvin remarked on the programme, clearly in pain. Turning to Liz, he said, "My arm is killing me still. My arm's really sore and I'm just thinking whether it's best you taking them. You'll be fine." He added, "Let's just see, but just on standby. How do you feel about that?"
Liz's response was less than enthusiastic, replying, "Well not great, obviously." However, Kelvin remained determined, reassuring her that "despite the adversity, despite the hiccups we're still going to go." This moment highlights the real-life challenges and family dynamics captured by the hit ITV show.
Despite this setback, the Fletchers are pushing forward with their new wedding venture. Couples interested in booking the farm for their nuptials can arrange an appointment via the official Fletchers Farm website. Fletchers' Family Farm continues to air on ITV1 and is available for streaming on ITVX.
