The Great British Food Festival will return to Margam Country Park for three days of food, drinks and festivities during the August bank holiday weekend, from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31.
Festivities at the Fairytale Estate
Visitors can explore the stunning fairytale village and gothic castle while enjoying chef demonstrations and talks, mouth-watering street food and live music. There will also be a dedicated children's stage, foraging walks and a variety of masterclasses, ensuring there is something to suit everyone. A woof zone features activities for four-legged friends.
Headline Chef and Tickets
Headlining the main stage demonstrations will be Welsh chef Matt Waldron. The Pembrokeshire-based culinary talent has helmed Michelin-starred restaurants, working alongside renowned chefs such as Pierre Gagnair and Helene Darozze at the Connaught Hotel. He has also recently filmed with Gordon Ramsay on his series called Unchartered, showcasing the finest produce the region has to offer for the Disney+ channel.
Tickets start at £14.75 for adults and £7 for children between 5-7, with children under five entering for free. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £34.75. The ticket price includes car parking on site. VIP upgrades, foraging masterclasses, paint and sip activities, and live cooking experiences are also available.
Organisers' Excitement
Danny and Janine Maycock, the family behind the festival, have attracted more than one million guests to their festivals over the past 16 years. Janine says: "Come for the food and stay for the fun, leave inspired. That is our message. Margam Country Park is such a wonderful setting. We really feel that this is the best way to get together with friends and family and have a wonderful day out this summer."
Entertainment includes the legendary Cake-Off, foraging walks, masterclasses in floristry and cake and sip, plus bars and street food stalls offering global dishes. The stages have been revamped to ensure there is always something on, including interactive challenges like Beat the Chef.
