Prince Harry has reportedly given up on the idea of reconciling with his estranged brother Prince William, according to a royal reporter. The Duke of Sussex, 41, has been vocal over the last few years about wanting to mend ties with his royal relatives, especially since relationships fractured after he quit royal duties in 2020 and criticised the Firm. While Harry made clear his desire for reconciliation, Prince William has consistently avoided the topic and reportedly ignored calls and texts, leading Harry to abandon efforts.
Radio silence from William
Speaking on The Royal Uncensored podcast, royal reporter for News.com.au Bronte Coy said: "It has been told to me that Harry reached out to his brother a number of times to make contact in that move towards reconciliation, like we’ve seen between him and the King. But it's been, I’ve been told, one-way traffic. Complete radio silence from the other side. As I understand it, Harry gave up some time ago."
Harry even attempted to reach out to William when Princess Catherine and King Charles were first diagnosed with cancer, but those efforts were also met with silence.
Upcoming UK visit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with their two children, will be in the UK next month, but a meeting with Prince William is not expected. However, the family could spend time with King Charles, whom Harry last saw in September. Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet are not believed to have seen the monarch since 2022 during their last UK visit. The family is expected to stay in a royal residence, though the specific location has not been confirmed.
The Duke of Sussex has publicly expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, but the ongoing rift with his brother appears to be a persistent barrier. The brothers have not been on speaking terms for several years, with tensions escalating after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and gave interviews critical of the monarchy.
