Frida, a two-and-a-half-year-old Kangal cross, was poisoned and left to die after being forcibly removed from a beach in Argos, Greece. Now, after a remarkable recovery, she is searching for a forever home.
From Beloved Beach Dog to Target of Cruelty
Frida had peacefully inhabited a beach in Argos, where she delighted tourists with her warm and friendly nature. Her life changed when she and another female stray were taken from the beach and abandoned in a remote village, where they were unwelcome. Despite her gentle temperament and fondness for people, including children, Frida quickly became a target. Rescuers soon found her frothing at the mouth after being deliberately poisoned.
Rescue and Recovery
Emergency treatment saved her life. A worker from Greek Stray ResQ said: 'I haven't added the graphic images of her frothing at the mouth from being poisoned. But it really is a miracle that she survived. If ever a dog deserve to have a loving home this beautiful gentle giant is one of them.' After weeks of care, Frida made a full recovery and still adores people, greeting each new face with warmth and affection.
A Gentle Giant Ready for a Family
Frida is described as extraordinarily sociable, friendly, and perfect for family life. She loves being around people and has a tender nature with children. Now in good health, she needs a family prepared to offer her the love and security she has never had. Her carers hope someone will open their home to this gentle giant.
