Meghan Markle's media blitz sparks 'war' claims with Princess Kate

Meghan Markle's recent media activity signals she is "back and means business," according to a royal commentator, who cautioned the Royal Family to be careful with their next move. The Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK in August, marking a significant reversal six years after relocating to the US with Prince Harry.

After maintaining a low profile without public appearances, Meghan dominated news cycles last week for several reasons. She was seen on a date at London's Claridge's Hotel in Mayfair with Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, and later shared a video of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, walking in the English countryside. She also posted on Instagram for the International Day of the Girl and launched a limited-edition jumper that sold out in two hours.

Commentator's Warning

Former MP and columnist Nadine Dorries claimed that Meghan "knows how to snatch the spotlight" and that Princess Catherine needs to "step up her game" to win this "media war." Writing for the Daily Mail, Dorries said: "Love her or loathe her, Meghan knows how to snatch the spotlight. The past week has been marked by a renewed media blitz from the Duchess, and all eyes are on her again. Which is exactly how she wants it to be."

Dorries noted that Meghan's presence dominated the news cycle, peaking after a recent sighting of the Princess of Wales. She added: "Was the timing a coincidence? In my opinion, it wasn't. Meghan knows exactly how to divert attention her way."

Upcoming Engagement

Dorries also remarked that while Catherine has faced "the mother of all health battles" due to her cancer diagnosis in 2024, her current image "needs a glow-up" and her "old sparkle wouldn't go amiss."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann's, Nottingham, for their first joint engagement since returning to the UK. The charity, originally established to provide young people access to music and recording facilities, now offers creative activities, sport, mentoring, and youth development. Harry and Meghan are expected to visit on Thursday to see the organisation, which aims to help young people facing poverty, instability, exploitation, or violence build confidence and practical skills. Nottingham was where the couple made their first joint appearance after announcing their engagement in 2017.
