A man who faces non-stop trolling over his girlfriend sleeping with other people claims he is actually the “ultimate feminist” – and says anyone who disagrees is just ignorant. Jade and Josh Vow, from Somerset, went viral over the summer and sparked a fierce backlash when they confessed that sleeping with other people was their joint “hobby”.
‘I want women to rule the world’
Despite the online hate, 40-year-old Josh insists he wants women to “rule the world”. The dad currently lives in Cyprus with his partner of eight years Jade, 27, who boasts over 85,000 followers on Instagram (@littlepidge).
Josh said: “I want women to rule the world. Overall I prefer them, and I think they'd rule a lot better than men do, too.
“If you had to choose someone to dictate to your village or your neighbourhood, I would feel much better if that dictator was a woman, put it that way.”
Sexual openness and respect
Josh enjoys threesomes with Jade and loves watching her with other men as a sexual kink. But he insists their lifestyle choice has nothing to do with a lack of respect.
“I just want everyone treated equally no matter what,” he said. “Just because we're sexually open, it doesn't mean I don't value my girlfriend. I actually treat her better than a lot of other men I know.”
Josh is a passionate believer in women being completely independent, both financially and in their lifestyle choices. In fact, Jade even considers her partner to be a misandrist – someone who dislikes or mistrusts men.
Addressing Josh, she said: “You think women are better than men, and so do I. Men had their chance and honestly, they've f***ed the world up.”
Financial freedom and double standards
The adult content creator said: “When Jade runs to tell me she's hit her cash target for that day, I'm so proud. I want her to have financial freedom, wear whatever she likes, flirt with whoever she wants to and express herself sexually.
“If a man sleeps with a lot of women, he gets called a stud whereas if a woman sleeps with a lot of men, she gets called a slut. It's not right. Women should have the ability to make good money, wherever they live in the world.
“There needs to be freedom of choice – it doesn't mean every woman's going to rush to be a marine, but if they want to they should have the freedom to do it.”
At home, Jade does the cleaning, while Josh takes on their cooking. She said: “Everyone should share the chores – men and women.”
Josh believes strongly that if he wants to share his girlfriend with other men, it's not anyone else's place to judge. By speaking openly, he hopes to break down barriers.
He added: “It shouldn't be a taboo subject. It's good to talk about because it shows people that it's not this seedy, horrible industry or way of living. A lot of people think our way of living is abnormal or wrong, but that's fuelled by ignorance.
“I'd love to know how many happy, openly poly relationships there are versus how many monogamous people are cheating. I'm sure there would be a lot more cheating.
“It's so common for men to cheat and I think nowadays it's gotten to the point where women almost roll their eyes. Personally, I've never cheated on a partner.”
Trust and honesty
People are often confused by Jade and Josh's relationship because although they sleep with other people, there are no secrets. Jade said: “We get everything that we need from each other so we wouldn't 'cheat' in the conventional way. That's not why we're open – we do it for added sexual thrills.”
Trust and honesty is vital for the pair and Josh hates anyone being treated like a possession. He said: “I hate that kind of speech – it really triggers me. I don't like anyone in a relationship talking about their other half like they own them. Friends don't possess each other, but friendship is your base and your relationship should build on that.”
