Harry and David Rich, known as the Rich Brothers, left the BBC series Garden Rescue in 2021 after five years on the programme. The siblings, who grew up in Brecon, Wales, joined co-star Charlie Dimmock when the show began in 2016 and quickly became fan favourites.
Why did the Rich Brothers leave Garden Rescue?
The reason for their exit has not been disclosed. The BBC confirmed their departure in a statement, saying: "Arit Anderson and the Rich brothers have decided to leave the programme after this year; however, they will continue to feature in the latest series starting this month."
Speaking about their time on the show, David told House Beautiful in 2018: "For us, it's a great chance to produce these gardens for people who wouldn't necessarily have gardens designed for them. The show is great because it shows what can be done with a small budget."
What are the Rich Brothers doing now?
The Rich Brothers continue to co-run their design studio, Rich Landscapes. Harry founded the business in 2011, and David joined three years later. Together, they have worked on projects around the world and regularly share updates on Instagram and their website.
Another project keeping them busy is Ty Gardd, Harry's garden. The brothers document its transformation in a YouTube series, offering insights into their design process, plant selection, favourite materials and approach to sustainability.
Family life and early inspiration
Their passion for gardening began in childhood. Harry told the Evening Standard: "We definitely grew up understanding the landscape and really enjoying being outside. I think it was that love of being outside, along with nature, that really inspired us to go out on our own into the landscape business. All of the pieces came together nicely."
Harry is married to Sue Rich, and they have two children, Indigo and Heath. David lives with his wife Tamara.
