Swansea Grand Theatre has announced the postponement of its Wednesday evening performance of Rumours of Fleetwood Mac due to a red weather warning for extreme heat across Wales. The tribute show, originally scheduled for June 24, will now take place on Sunday, September 13.
Red weather warning forces change
The decision came after the Met Office issued a red warning for extreme heat, the highest level of alert, which prompted the theatre to reschedule for safety reasons. The theatre stated that the stalls seating layout will be altered by September due to planned renovations, but it will reallocate tickets as close to original bookings as possible.
In a statement, the theatre said: "Unfortunately due to the red weather warning for extreme heat Rumours of Fleetwood Mac (June 24) has been postponed until Sunday, September 13. New tickets will be issued in the coming week or so; please note that the stalls layout will have changed by September, but we will try and allocate seats as close to your original booking as possible."
Refunds available for those unable to attend
The theatre apologised for any inconvenience and advised patrons who cannot make the new date to contact the box office for a refund via email at boxoffice@swansea.gov.uk. The statement added: "If you can’t make the new date please contact the box office for a refund. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."
Swansea Grand Theatre, a historic venue in the city centre, regularly hosts a variety of performances. The extreme heat warning, issued on June 24, 2026, is part of a broader heatwave affecting the UK, with temperatures expected to soar. The theatre's decision prioritises the safety of audience members, staff, and performers.
