Guest Reviews

One guest praised: "Location, location, location sums up this cottage. It is at the end of a private road and very quiet. You are in a village with good road links but you would not know it. We found it very comfortable and will be back."

Another said: "This is a very pleasant, bright, and comfortable cottage, in a quiet location. We found sitting in the garden and just listening to birdsong so relaxing."

A third review noted: "The cottage is excellent. Very convenient location for visiting Durham and lovely countryside with some outstanding villages. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well furnished with comfortable beds. Owners are very friendly. Overall an excellent choice for a holiday in this area."

Another guest added: "We absolutely loved our three days in this property. It is beautifully fitted-out in every way and was extremely comfortable and well-equipped. Everything you could need was thoughtfully provided, even extending to bread, milk, butter and jam on arrival. There are some beautiful walks very close to the house - although we spent a lot of time relaxing in the house doing the two jigsaws in the cupboard and watching the rugby. Would definitely come again!"

Minor Criticisms

One guest noted: "Minimal glassware and perhaps bedding is too thick. However, lovely location and host was very attentive and friendly offering good advice." Another advised the cottage is small for four guests: "If there had been two couples staying in Honey Hirst it would not work!"
