The total continued to climb, surpassing the monumental £1 million mark. Overwhelmed by the public's generosity, the 50-year-old broadcaster was visibly emotional during the broadcast.

Speaking to Mills, an emotional Cox responded, “That’s amazing. Thank you. You’ve completely broken me. Everybody who has donated, thank you so much.” The moment provided a powerful boost for the presenter mid-way through her demanding trek.

The Gruelling Challenge Continues

Cox is currently undertaking the ‘Great Northern Marathon Challenge’, a formidable five-day journey covering 135 miles on foot. The route began at the Scottish border and is set to conclude in Pudsey, Leeds. Despite facing difficult conditions, including torrential rain and battling her own anxiety, Cox has been heartened by the number of supporters who have come out to cheer her on along the way.

The challenge exemplifies a tremendous physical and mental effort for a cause close to many hearts across the UK. The funds raised will make a significant difference to the lives of children supported by the charity.
