Rip Wheeler Not Leaving Dutton Ranch Despite Rumors
Rip Wheeler Stays on Dutton Ranch Amid Fan Confusion

Devotees of the critically-lauded Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch, have been left with numerous unanswered questions after suggestions emerged that a beloved character might be exiting. The Yellowstone follow-up features Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser returning as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, establishing fresh beginnings in Texas.

After a sequence of tragic circumstances, Rip was compelled to accept employment at the competing 10 Petal ranch, run by Beulah Jackson (portrayed by Annette Bening), to generate income. Both he and Beth intended to collaborate in gathering intelligence about Beulah while mitigating any potential danger she might pose. Yet, coverage following the most recent instalment has left audiences questioning whether Rip Wheeler had been ousted.

Is Rip Leaving Dutton Ranch?

The answer is no, Rip Wheeler is not departing Dutton Ranch, contrary to what certain headlines have implied. Coverage surrounding 'Rip's replacement' has misled audiences, as nobody is being recruited to assume the principal role. Similarly, actor Cole Hauser is not relinquishing the part - rather, his character has simply adopted a somewhat different capacity within the programme.

While Rip has been occupied managing the 10 Petal Ranch, his ranch hands, Zachariach (Marc Menchaca) and Azul (J. R. Villarreal), have been overseeing his responsibilities at the Dutton Ranch. He hopes his stint there will be short-lived, until they can determine what to do about their own cattle-less ranch.

Rob-Will's Return Sparks Speculation

In the most recent episode, Beulah announced that her addict son, Rob-Will (Jai Courtney), would assume control of the 10 Petal. Given that Rob-Will and Rip had a prior altercation at the gas station, viewers are predicting that Rip will be forced out, or worse - killed at the hands of Rob-Will.

With the finale less than a fortnight away, anything remains possible, but for the time being, Rip is staying put and there is nothing to indicate he is on his way out. The series is yet to be commissioned for another season, but following its record-breaking debut, expectations are high for its return. Dutton Ranch airs on Fridays on Paramount+.
