Spice Girl Melanie 'Mel C' Chisholm and her Australian model boyfriend, Chris Dingwall, made a rare and stylish public appearance together at the Wicked: For Good premiere in New York on Monday evening.
The couple, who confirmed their relationship last year, looked effortlessly chic as they posed for photographers at the David Geffen Hall event. The 51-year-old pop icon coordinated her ensemble with her partner's, showcasing a united and fashionable front.
Red Carpet Style and Smiles
Mel C was the picture of sophistication in a unique bibbed white shirt, which she paired with a loosely tied black dickie bow and flowing palazzo pants. She completed her look with tied-back hair and glamorous makeup.
Meanwhile, Chris Dingwall opted for a more classic approach, wearing a perfectly tailored black suit over a crisp white shirt. The pair were visibly happy, beaming as they cosied up for pictures before taking their seats to watch the highly anticipated sequel to the hit musical.
The Raya Love Story Revealed
Just last week, Mel C opened up about the origins of their relationship during an appearance on the Life Uncut podcast. She confessed that the couple met on the exclusive dating app Raya after friends encouraged her to 'get back out there' following the end of her previous relationship.
'Nobody knows this, but we actually met on Raya,' the I Turn To You singer revealed. She described how, during a girls' night, they would playfully scroll through the app in a game they called 'boy bingo,' looking for 'hotties' and spotting celebrities.
It was during one of these sessions, while Mel C was in London, that she matched with the Sydneysider. Preparing for a DJ tour in Australia, she thought, 'He's really cute. This is worth pursuing.'
From First Date to Lasting Romance
Their first meeting took place in November 2023. Mel C landed in Sydney at seven in the morning and, showing what she jokingly called 'commitment or desperation,' powered through the day to make their dinner date that evening.
'He booked this restaurant; it was hard to get into. So, I was like, I don't want to let the dude down and we've been together ever since,' she shared, noting she had never told this story publicly before.
The Spice Girl went on to gush about her partner, describing him as a 'real gentle soul' who is 'quietly in the sidelines, being uber supportive.' This public display of affection and the revelation of their meet-cute marks a shift for the singer, who has historically kept her love life private.
She has previously spoken about being banned from dating in the early days of the Spice Girls, while her bandmates were free to pursue relationships, a rule she found unfair and damaging to her self-esteem at the time.
