Bethenny Frankel: Meghan's Ex Knew She'd 'Close the Deal' with Harry
Meghan's Ex Predicted Royal Marriage Says Bethenny Frankel

The Royal Prediction That Came True

Reality television star Bethenny Frankel has made a startling revelation about Meghan Markle's former husband Trevor Engelson, claiming he was certain his ex-wife would marry Prince Harry from the very beginning of their relationship.

The Skinnygirl Margarita founder, now 54, became acquainted with Meghan's film producer ex-partner around 2016, precisely when Meghan's romance with Prince Harry became public knowledge. At that time, Bethenny admitted she had no idea who Meghan Markle was.

'She'll Close': The Text Exchange That Predicted History

According to Frankel's account on The Toast podcast with Claudia Oshry, Engelson displayed immediate certainty that his former spouse would walk down the aisle for a second time - this time in a royal wedding.

Less than two years later, his prediction proved accurate when Meghan and Harry married at St George's Chapel in Windsor in May 2018.

The fascinating insight emerged during Bethenny's brief romantic involvement with Trevor, who has since married Tracey Kurland. Their conversation naturally turned to his previous marriage as they became better acquainted.

'He mentioned his ex was an actress from a show called Suits. I wasn't familiar with the programme or the woman,' Frankel recalled.

Months later, when photographs emerged of Prince Harry with his new girlfriend, Bethenny immediately texted Trevor: 'Is this your ex?'

After receiving confirmation, she followed up with another question: 'Do you think she's going to close?' - using business terminology meaning to secure the marriage.

Trevor's response was reportedly knowing and definitive: 'Oh, she'll close.'

From Romance to Business Partnership

Bethenny and Trevor's relationship began when they met at Chicago's Soho House in 2016 and shared what she described as 'flirtatious' chemistry.

However, their connection ultimately evolved from romantic to professional. Despite acknowledging 'a little sizzle there,' Bethenny explained they bypassed romance to collaborate on television projects.

'He looks a little like my ex which scares me,' she admitted during a 2018 interview with Australian radio programme Kyle and Jackie O. 'We haven't slept together, we haven't hooked up... We bypassed the romantics and went into the business.'

Their professional relationship continues, with Trevor pitching a TV show concept about businesswomen that Frankel believes they will produce together.

Meghan and Trevor's relationship timeline shows they began dating in 2004, married in September 2011, and divorced in August 2013. Reports previously indicated that Meghan returned her wedding ring by post following their separation.

Meghan's half-brother Thomas Markle Jr previously suggested to DailyMail.com that Hollywood pressures contributed to the couple's breakup.

Following her divorce, Meghan dated Canadian celebrity chef Cory Vitiello before being introduced to Prince Harry through mutual friend Misha Nonoo in May 2016.

Nine years later, the Sussexes have established their life in Montecito with their two children, having stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

Frankel hasn't shied away from criticising the couple previously, particularly following their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview where she tweeted about 'the plight of being a game show host, fairly unknown actress, to suffering in a palace.'

Her latest revelations provide intriguing behind-the-scenes insight into how those closest to Meghan viewed her relationship with Prince Harry from its earliest days.
