Conor McGregor's Secret Rome Wedding: Date, Venue & Controversy
McGregor's Secret Rome Wedding Plans Revealed

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and his long-term fiancée Dee Devlin are finally set to exchange vows in a secret ceremony in Rome before the year concludes, according to new reports.

A Long-Awaited Roman Nuptial

The Irish fighter, 37, and Devlin, 38, who began their romance 16 years ago and have been engaged for over five years, are planning an intimate wedding in the Italian capital. Rumours suggest the couple have their sights set on December 12 for their big day, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

A source close to the McGregor family revealed their desire for a Vatican wedding, stating: 'Conor and Dee want to get married before Christmas and are planning a wedding at the Vatican in Rome. They are both staunch Catholics and it is their dream to wed there.' Their initial hope to marry in the iconic Sistine Chapel was dashed as the Vatican prohibits ceremonies there. Instead, they are likely to use the Cappella del Caro beside St Peter's Basilica, which can host around 100 guests.

Standing By Through Controversy

Devlin has remained a constant presence in McGregor's life through significant personal and legal challenges. This includes his failed attempt earlier this year to overturn a civil rape case he lost in November 2024.

In that case, McGregor was found liable for assaulting Nikita Hand at a Dublin hotel in 2018 and was ordered to pay his victim £218,000 in damages. McGregor denied the allegation, stating they had 'fully consensual sex' and that he did not cause her bruising. In July, three judges in the Dublin Court of Appeal rejected all five grounds of his appeal.

Speaking outside the court afterwards, Ms Hand said: 'To every survivor out there, I know how hard it is but please don't be silenced. You deserve to be heard. You also deserve justice. Today I can finally move on and try to heal.'

Family, Faith, and Future Fights

The couple, who reside in the quiet Irish village of Straffan, share four children together – one daughter and three sons. McGregor recently hinted at the impending wedding while promoting his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in Rome, where he also spoke about his spiritual journey.

'I live my life by God's word, since around the last time you mentioned at the last event, I have engaged on a spiritual journey. I am saved. I am healed,' the controversial star said. 'Now I'm here with my own family, my beautiful children, my fiancee, wife-to-be soon.'

With the ceremony planned to be hush-hush, the world waits to see if the superstar couple will finally tie the knot in a Roman celebration marking the culmination of their 16-year relationship.
