Actor Liev Schreiber has been pictured looking fit and carefree on a family holiday in Barbados, just weeks after a health scare that saw him hospitalised with a severe headache.
Sun-Soaked Getaway After Health Worries
The 58-year-old Ray Donovan star was seen shirtless on a beach this Tuesday, strolling in green, tropical-print swim trunks before boarding a boat with his family. Photos obtained by DailyMail.com show Schreiber was joined by two of his three children – Sasha, 18, and Kai, 17 – along with a friend for a day of water sports.
Clearly in high spirits, Schreiber was later seen confidently waterskiing behind the boat, flashing a broad smile and soaking up the Caribbean sunshine. This carefree outing presents a stark contrast to recent events, where the actor sparked concern after being rushed to hospital suffering what was described as a 'massive headache'.
A Private Concern and Past Medical History
At the time, a source told the Daily Mail that Schreiber felt 'embarrassed' by the attention. He reportedly disliked people knowing he sought hospital care for a headache, fearing it made him appear 'weak' while at the height of his career. The star is said to be grateful to doctors and relieved the 'intolerable' pain has subsided.
This is not the actor's first health scare related to headaches. In 2024, he revealed he was diagnosed with a rare, benign condition called Transient Global Amnesia (TGA), brought on by a migraine, while starring in 'Doubt: A Parable' on Broadway. TGA causes a sudden, temporary episode of memory loss that typically resolves within 24 hours.
Recalling the incident on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', Schreiber described it as 'the worst nightmare that an actor could possibly ever experience'. He forgot his co-star's name backstage and then his lines onstage, leading him to fear he had suffered a stroke. Medical scans, however, showed his brain was 'perfectly fine'.
Family Life and Moving Forward
Schreiber, best known for his title role in Showtime's Ray Donovan, is now happily married to Taylor Neisen, 32. The couple, who met in 2017, married in July 2023 and welcomed a daughter, Hazel Bee, in August 2023. He shares his older children, Sasha and Kai, with his ex-partner, actress Naomi Watts.
The Barbados getaway offered a sunny glimpse of the actor fully recovered and prioritising quality time with his family away from the spotlight, effectively shrugging off the recent health worries that had briefly sidelined him.
