Khloe Kardashian Reveals Ex Lamar Odom Burned Her Diaries in Traumatic Ordeal
Khloe Kardashian: Lamar Odom Burned My Diaries

Reality television star Khloe Kardashian has broken her silence about a deeply distressing incident involving her former husband, basketball legend Lamar Odom. During a recent episode of her popular Khloe In Wonderland podcast, the 41-year-old founder of Good American shared a painful memory from their marriage that left her emotionally scarred.

The Traumatic Incident

Kardashian revealed that Odom, now 46, deliberately destroyed her most prized personal possessions – her personal diaries. The former Los Angeles Lakers star burned every single one of her journals in a fire right in front of her, an act she described as profoundly traumatic. The incident occurred because Odom was reportedly having a particularly difficult day.

For Khloe, these journals were far more than simple notebooks. She had developed a habit of documenting her innermost thoughts and feelings, making the books incredibly personal and therapeutic. 'Everything was in these journals,' explained the daughter of Kris Jenner. 'It was years of my life in these journals, and they meant so much to me.'

The Emotional Aftermath

The Good American designer recalled her visceral reaction to seeing her life's memories go up in flames. 'I remember sobbing, tears streaming down my face,' Kardashian relayed on her show. 'I could remember me on my knees, screaming.' The experience was so devastating that it fundamentally changed her relationship with journaling and material possessions.

Kardashian explained that Odom's actions were driven by paranoia linked to his well-documented struggles with drug addiction at the time. 'He was incredibly paranoid and found these journals that he knew I did all the time and was reading them and just was convinced that I was like, taking notes and sending them to the government or something crazy,' she shared.

A Changed Perspective

The traumatic event had lasting consequences for Khloe's personal habits and outlook on life. The reality star admitted she has never returned to journaling with the same commitment since the incident. 'Because I just felt like, wow, that was taken away in a f***ing blink, and what was the point?' she questioned.

This painful experience forced Kardashian to reconsider her attachment to physical objects. 'I think it just made me [realise] … you don't get to really keep anything in this world, and it's, maybe that's OK,' she reflected. While she occasionally writes things down, she now tends to throw them away rather than preserving them.

Despite her changed habits, Kardashian expressed regret about losing those precious records of her past. 'I wish I had those books just to see like, what were my thoughts then,' she said, acknowledging the special process of looking back on one's personal growth through journaling.

The couple's relationship timeline adds context to this revelation. Kardashian and Odom met in 2009 and married after just one month of dating. She filed for divorce in 2013 but famously came to his aid when he suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2015 at a Nevada brothel. Their divorce was finalised in 2016, closing a tumultuous chapter in both their lives.
