Jeremy Clarkson warns new Grand Tour hosts in surprise cameo

Jeremy Clarkson has directed a tongue-in-cheek warning at the new hosts of The Grand Tour as he makes a cameo in the upcoming series. The Clarkson's Farm star previously fronted the Amazon Prime Video series from 2016 to 2024 alongside Richard Hammond and James May. When the streamer decided to bring it back this September, the hosts were replaced.

New hosts announced

TikToker Francis Bourgeois, YouTuber James Engelsman and motoring journalist Thomas Holland were announced as the new presenters. The trio will take the reins when the new series begins on September 4.

During the series, they visit California to test the latest US muscle cars: the Ford Mustang GTD, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and the £2 million Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Evolution. They also head to Malaysia to explore the nation’s car culture before traveling through the desert of Angola in track cars unsuited for the job.

Cameo at Diddly Squat Farm

In the first episode, the three new hosts visited Jeremy at Diddly Squat Farm, the home of his Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm. According to the Mirror, he told them: "Listen, guys. Seriously, have fun with this. Good luck." He then added a warning: "Don't f*** it up."

However, Clarkson expressed faith in the new hosts: "I've got to be honest with you, I've actually been watching what they've been up to for the past year and a half, and they're very, very good. You're going to love it."

Former co-stars also appear

Richard Hammond and James May will also make appearances throughout the series. May previously told The Standard that the trio left the show after they had "exhausted" the subject. He said: "We always said, between us, that we would end it with some race, hopefully, rather than fly into the White Cliffs of Dover, desperately trying to keep it along – and I think we just about managed that. We’d exhausted the subject, we are getting on a bit. I believe it’s time for a new generation to find a new take – I don’t know what it is."

The new series of The Grand Tour launches on Prime Video on September 4.
