Katie Price reveals Harvey will start Mounjaro weight loss jabs

Katie Price has revealed her son Harvey is set to begin taking the weight loss drug Mounjaro following their recent trip to Ibiza, describing the treatment as vital for his health and quality of life.

The former glamour model, 48, discussed the 24-year-old's health during the latest episode of The Katie Price Podcast, which she presents alongside her sister Sophie. Katie explained that Harvey's weight has become a serious health concern, with his BMI reportedly twice the level classified as obese.

Harvey's health and Mounjaro treatment

"Harvey is starting the Mounjaro," she said, with Sophie responding: "Yeah, I think that will really help him because he's struggling at the minute."

Katie went on to explain why she hopes the treatment will make a difference to her son, who has Prader-Willi syndrome. "I can't wait. Then he can do the rollercoasters, he can do more, walk more and have more energy. To be obese you need to have a BMI of 27. Harvey's is 59, so way up - he's morbidly obese."

"So he needs it for his health. This isn't for looks, it's for a better quality of life for him."

Harvey's medical background

Harvey was diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome when he was young, a rare genetic condition which can cause learning difficulties, behavioural challenges and physical symptoms. He is also autistic and blind with septa-optic dysplasia, a congenital syndrome involving underdevelopment of the optic nerve and pituitary gland dysfunction.

Katie has previously spoken about her fears surrounding Harvey's weight, saying she is particularly worried about the impact it could have on his heart. Her comments came after she revealed that her eldest son, who has moved out of his residential home and back in with her, weighs just under 30 stone.

Speaking on Andrew Gold's Heretics podcast, Katie said: "I'm not worried about his eyesight. What I'm worried about is him having a heart attack, his obesity. He weighs just under 30 stone."

Medical approval and family concerns

She also explained that Harvey's medical team must approve his Mounjaro treatment because of the other medication he takes. "It's easy for me to just give it, but because of his other medications, you have to have all the team tick it off."

"It's getting to a point now, where he doesn't want to walk anywhere, he gets out of breath and sweats and they have said he is at high risk of having a heart attack."

"You try to [force him to walk] but he literally breaks into a sweat. I bathe him twice a day and it breaks my heart seeing him get in and out of the bath because he's so big and heavy."

Harvey's relationship with Dwight Yorke

Katie also opened up about Harvey's relationship with his biological father, former footballer Dwight Yorke. She said attempts to reconnect the pair have continued over the years, but claimed Dwight remains unwilling to have contact with his son.

"Dwight would have such a laugh with Harv because he's so funny. My mum tries every year to contact his manager. Every year, it's the same answer: not interested," she added.

"Yet he's got another son who's the same age as Princess and apparently does stuff with him, sees him all the time."

"He's seen [Harvey] about six times in his whole life. I wish he would get involved. Everyone is like, 'Kate, why would you allow that when he has not been there?'"

"Because I'm not that kind of person. I want him to be proud of Harvey and what he's become and he so looks like Dwight as well. Harvey has done so well considering they said he would never walk or talk."
