Emmerdale Ruby's revenge plan 'exposed' and it's bad news for Jimmy

Ruby Miligan has been secretly orchestrating a takeover of the Home James haulage company, and a shocking murder could take place in Emmerdale in the near future.

Jimmy King (played by Nick Miles) has been experiencing financial difficulties of late. He remains oblivious to the fact that Ruby (Beth Cordingly) has been covertly engineering the takeover. She notably blackmailed Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) into stealing a van and intercepting one of Jimmy's crucial haulage deliveries. This resulted in Jimmy losing an important business client and undermining his financial standing, just as his son, Elliot Windsor (Luca Hoyle), prepares to commence his studies at St Andrew's University.

Jimmy's proposal to expand the business

During the latest episode on Wednesday (August 19), which is now available on ITVX, Jimmy turned up at The Mill to confide in Ruby and Caleb (Will Ash), reports the Daily Star.

"I was wondering if it was time that we invested a bit more money into Home James haulage," Jimmy said. "I will put in the time and effort, believe me, but, Elliot's going to uni, and Nicola has kind of promised him the five-star experience... So, I thought it might be a good time to expand the business. Bigger contracts, more income all round."

Ruby's proposal and Jimmy's refusal

Attempting to advance her scheme, Ruby then proposed: "This probably sounds crazy, but I've just had an idea... This is the bit where I ask you if you'd consider selling us your half of the business in order to pay for your son's education."

Jimmy revealed he was tempted, but remained resolute in maintaining the haulage business within his family, having taken over from his own father.

"Do you know what, Jimmy? Let's leave it. We'll pick up the pieces when the company goes bust," a frustrated Ruby subsequently declared. Caleb later proposed that Jimmy take some time to consider his options.

Viewer theories and potential comeback

Certain Emmerdale viewers suspect that Jimmy will stand firm, resulting in Ruby exacting the ultimate retribution and potentially prompting Sadie King's (Patsy Kensit) comeback.

"[I think] Sadie will come back after Ruby kills Jimmy to get her hands on the haulage and exacts revenge and then Sadie kills Ruby on Christmas Day by running her over in a HGV," one viewer posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Another contributed: "I wouldn't be surprised if Sadie coming back is nothing to do with Kim, Joe, Graham or Home Farm. A connection of Ruby maybe?" A third remarked: "I agree. She probably returns for the funeral of Jimmy but will have a link with Ruby or Kev."

This follows reports from earlier this year that claimed Jimmy would be killed off in a dramatic sequence, although the soap has yet to verify the rumours. Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
