Emmerdale exit 'sealed' for Dales legend in devastating Jimmy King twist
Emmerdale exit 'sealed' for Jimmy King in devastating twist

Emmerdale fans believe a shock murder could be taking place soon, with Jimmy King potentially facing a devastating exit.

ITV soap viewers know that Jimmy (played by Nick Miles) has been having recent money troubles. The village stalwart is unaware that Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has been secretly orchestrating a takeover of the Home James haulage firm. She notably blackmailed Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) into stealing a van and intercepting one of Jimmy's vital haulage shipments.

This led to Jimmy losing a critical business contact and weakening his financial position, just as his son, Elliot Windsor (Luca Hoyle), prepares to begin his studies at St Andrew's University.

Jimmy's offer to invest

During the latest episode on Wednesday (August 19), now streaming on ITVX, Jimmy arrived at The Mill to confide in Ruby and Caleb (Will Ash).

"I was wondering if it was time that we invested a bit more money into Home James haulage," Jimmy said. "I will put in the time and effort, believe me, but, Elliot's going to uni, and Nicola has kind of promised him the five-star experience... So, I thought it might be a good time to expand the business. Bigger contracts, more income all round."

Trying to make her plan succeed, Ruby then suggested: "This probably sounds crazy, but I've just had an idea... This is the bit where I ask you if you'd consider selling us your half of the business in order to pay for your son's education."

Jimmy said he was tempted but was determined to keep the haulage firm in his family, after he took over from his own dad. "Do you know what, Jimmy? Let's leave it. We'll pick up the pieces when the company goes bust," a frustrated Ruby then said. Caleb later suggested that Jimmy take some time to think things through.

Fan theories on revenge

Some Emmerdale fans believe that Jimmy will stick to his guns, leading to Ruby taking the ultimate revenge and possibly triggering Sadie King's (Patsy Kensit) return.

"[I think] Sadie will come back after Ruby kills Jimmy to get her hands on the haulage and exacts revenge and then Sadie kills Ruby on Christmas Day by running her over in a HGV," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: "I wouldn't be surprised if Sadie coming back is nothing to do with Kim, Joe, Graham or Home Farm. A connection of Ruby maybe?" Someone else commented: "I agree. She probably returns for the funeral of Jimmy but will have a link with Ruby or Kev."

This comes after it was reported earlier this year that Jimmy would be killed off in a dramatic stunt, though the soap has yet to confirm the speculation. Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
