Emmerdale: Charity Devastated as CPS Drops Dr Todd Case

Emmerdale viewers will be left heartbroken for Charity Dingle next week on the ITV soap as she learns the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will not pursue Dr Todd's case due to a lack of evidence. This comes after Charity bravely reported Dr Todd for sexual assault and blackmail, and told her husband Mack Boyd everything.

Charity's Struggle Continues

Only recently, evil Dr Todd sexually assaulted Charity after weeks of blackmailing her. Dr Todd had uncovered the true biological parentage of baby Leyla, using this information to make Charity's life a misery before attacking her in harrowing scenes. Charity reported the assault to the police, and Mack confronted Dr Todd at her new workplace.

Mack and Vanessa Plot Together

Unwilling to let Dr Todd get away with this, Mack and Vanessa Woodfield begin plotting together. They believe they could uncover buried complaints at the hospital to bring down the sinister doctor. Jacob Sugden also gets involved after Dr Todd made his life a misery while working as a junior doctor under her in a hard-hitting workplace bullying storyline.

Vanessa and Jacob Seek Evidence

Vanessa teams up with Jacob as they meet privately with HR representative Carol to try and get evidence. However, when Charity gets wind, she heads to confront Vanessa but finds herself face-to-face with Helen, who is another of Dr Todd's victims. At first, Helen doesn't want to talk, but when Charity quietly reveals how Dr Todd raped her, it clearly strikes a chord with a harrowed Helen.

New Character Helen

The role of new character Helen is being played by actress Nicole Evans, best known for roles in films and TV shows such as Captain America: The First Avenger, Hollyoaks, The Bay, and The Sandman. Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
