Former EastEnders actor Michael Greco has joined the cast of a Newcastle pantomime for Christmas 2026. The 55-year-old, who played Beppe Di Marco on the BBC soap, will take on the role of villain Abanazar in Aladdin at the Tyne Theatre.
Michael Greco's EastEnders role
Greco became a heartthrob in the late 1990s and early 2000s thanks to his portrayal of Walford resident Beppe Di Marco. He was at the centre of a major EastEnders storyline involving his love for Martine McCutcheon's character Tiffany, before Tiffany's tragic death at the end of 1998. Beppe later became involved in another love triangle when he had a romance with Lynne Slater, before leaving Albert Square for good in 2002.
Pantomime details and cast
Aladdin will run at the Tyne Theatre on Westgate Road from December 4 to January 3. Greco, who has also appeared on Celebrity Love Island and Soccer Aid, will star alongside former X Factor finalist Marcus Collins and Geordie double act Charlie Richmond and Lewis Denny. The pantomime marks Greco's return to the spotlight after some time away.
